NorCal Battle of the Badges to bring law enforcement, kcra.com
SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
Every year, public safety personnel come together for a charity boxing card.
The 19th annual NorCal Battle of the Badges, pitting law enforcement against firefighters, will take place this year in Wheatland at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain on Oct. 15.

One of the boxers who will be attending is 52-year-old Chuck Pfau, who by day is a sergeant with the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office. But inside the ring, he is the Super Cruiserweight Champion, and he seeks to defend that title going into his seventh Battle of the Badges.
Anthony Cross, a correctional sergeant at California State Prison, Sacramento, will also seek to defend his title of Cruiserweight Champion. The undefeated boxer will seek to keep his title for the third time.
There are also some newcomers stepping in to swing. Briana Doss, a correctional officer, spent 90 days training for the event.
